This oil-based cleanser literally melts your day away. It easily removes makeup, SPF and grime and is a great first step in a double cleansing routine.
The oil-based formula effectively removes makeup without harsh scrubbing or ingredients.
Some face cleansers use harsh ingredients that dry out your skin. We use glycerin which pulls water into the outer layer of your skin, keeping it hydrated during the cleansing process.
Caviar lime extract is a natural AHA that very gently exfoliates your skin throughout the cleansing process. Exfoliation is crucial for revealing brighter, smoother skin.
A natural source of precious AHAs, this extract gently exfoliates the skin for a smoother, brighter, more even skin tone.
Glycerin attracts moisture and holds it within the skin’s moisture barrier to help soothe irritation and keep skin from drying out.
Oil-based cleansers use the principle of "like dissolves like". The oils in the cleansers attract and bind to the oils in your makeup, SPF or the general grime on your skin. The massaging motion helps to further break the oils down before you rinse the day away!
Oil-based cleansers are fantastic for removing makeup, SPF and daily grime from your skin. They leave the natural oils on your skin intact, so they're more gentle on your skin than other cleansers, making them a great option if you have dry or sensitive skin.
Almost anyone can use an oil-based cleanser. For example - if you're prone to acne, but have dry skin, an oil cleanser can be a great option because they're gentle on your skin. They leave your skin's natural oils in tact which helps to stop your skin drying out which can make the inflammation of acne worse. Just make sure you rinse well! Oil cleansers can also be a good option for oily skin as they gently work to break down excess oil. However - if you like your face to feel more "squeaky clean" and free of oil - a water-based cleanser like OhMyDays might suit you better.
Absolutely. You can typically use an oil-based cleanser into your daily skincare routine, but how much you use it may depend on your skin type and personal preferences. Dry or combination skin types often benefit from daily use to maintain moisture, but if you have very oily skin you might use them less frequently, or just as a makeup remover followed by a cream or foaming cleanser.
You can use an oil-based cleanser both in the morning and at night, however our favourite time of day to use it is in the evening to remove makeup and SPF. If you have dry or sensitive skin it can be especially good to use it morning and night to help your skin retain moisture.
How you use your oil-based cleanser depends on your skin type and what you're aiming for. If your skin tends to be dry or sensitive, you can simply wash your face with the oil cleanser and then carry on with your usual skincare routine. On the flip side, if you're dealing with oilier skin, or if you wear a lot of makeup you might want to give the double-cleansing method a go. You can check out our full range of cleansers here.
