Want to get to know what’s in our supplements a little better? As you probably know, there are absolutely no fillers, binders or additives in any of our supplements – just quality ingredients that deliver top results. So here’s what they are:
Adaptogens:
Adaptogens are herbs or mushrooms that have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years to help your body handle stress. How? When we face a stressor, our bodies go through a General Adaptation Syndrome which is a three-stage response: alarm, resistance and exhaustion. Adaptogens can help you stay in the resistance phase for longer: instead of crashing, you carry on.
Amino Acids:
They support our immune system, hydrate our skin and reduce signs of ageing. We can split them into two types: essential and non-essential. Non-essential amino acids are produced by your body, whereas essential amino acids are not produced by the body, which is why we need to get them from our diet or supplements.
Astragalus:
This adaptogenic herb has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries to tonify the qi. It provides support for immune defence, nervous system, cardiovascular health, hormonal systems and helps your body adapt and cope with the physiological and psychological stresses we encounter on a daily basis.
Collagen:
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body — it’s in your bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles and skin – think of it as the glue that holds everything together. Not only does it keep our nails and hair strong and shiny, it also makes our skin plump, and helps with creaky joints and stiff muscles. The bummer? Collagen production decreases as we age, which is why people turn to external collagen supplements to help slow the decline.
Gotu Kola:
Gotu Kola is an ancient herb well known and studied for helping to support collagen synthesis, maintain healthy circulation, and stimulate new cell growth – great news for your hair, skin and nails!
Hyaluronic Acid:
This naturally occurring substance is created by our skin cells to retain moisture and keep our skin looking hydrated and plump. It declines with age, which it’s why a supplement that contains it is so great. Fun fact: One gram of Hyaluronic Acid can hold up to six litres of water.
Hydrolysis:
Hydrolysis is the process our Marine Collagen goes through where water molecules break down larger collagen molecules into smaller molecules known as Marine Collagen Peptides. These smaller molecules are easier for your body to absorb, and easy to break down into amino acids during the digestive process thanks to their low molecular size.
Keratin:
One of the structural proteins that makes up our hair, skin and nails!
Larch Fibre:
Sourced from the heartwood of the North American Larch tree, Larch Fibre is a good source of prebiotic fibre that works to assist the growth of all beneficial bacteria in the gut - great news for your digestive health! Larch Fibre can also support natural immune function by increasing beneficial immune cell populations and antibody production.
Lion’s Mane:
This adaptogenic mushroom has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine to support immune and cognitive function, normal mood balance, mental clarity, alertness and concentration.
Marine Collagen:
As the name suggests, it’s collagen that has been sourced from marine sources (like fish). Marine Collagen supports the health and appearance of your hair, skin and nails, and helps to slow down the ageing process.
Nootropics:
Synthetic substances that can have a positive impact on your cognitive ability.
Vitamin C:
As an antioxidant that helps protect against harmful radicals from environment and lifestyle, Vitamin C is well known to complement collagen, supporting collagen production.
Zeolite:
Zeolite is a negatively charged volcanic mineral that attracts toxins like a magnetic cage, trapping and removing them safely and effectively without breaking down in the bloodstream. That’s what makes it so great for supporting body detox and immune function (like it does in our Renew+).
