Skincare benefits of Vitamin C

Vitamin C is the talk of the town right now, and for very good reason.

It’s a powerful antioxidant and an even better multitasker, targeting a number of skin concerns and leaving you with brighter, more radiant skin. We love Vitamin C so much that we made it the hero ingredient in our brand new booster serum  - the Brightening Booster.

What makes Vitamin C so good?

Not only does Vitamin C leave your skin looking more radiant than it has the right to, it also:

- Supports collagen production. Vitamin C supports collagen synthesis, which leads to plump, younger-looking skin.

- Helps fade dark spots. Dark spots are pesky! And common. Acne scarring, hormonal changes and damage from the sun are all common types. By targeting the skin’s melanin production, Vitamin C works to correct these dark spots and leave your skin looking brighter. Hooray!

- Fights free radical damage. You might be wondering what free radicals actually are? Think of them as things in the environment that make your skin age prematurely. The sun! Pollution! Toxins! Antioxidants (like Vitamin C) protect your skin from these free radicals and help to keep your cells healthy.

Who can use it?

All skin types will love Vitamin C! They’ll drink it right up. Especially if your skin is dull, rough, ageing, or has dark spots. What’s important is finding a form of Vitamin C that works for you and your particular skin type.

For our acne prone and sensitive skin friends, you’ll need a non-irritating form of Vitamin C with a pH level that’s close to the skin’s natural pH level of 5.5.

Which leads us into why we've chosen to use L-Ascorbic Acid!

Brightening Booster uses Stabilised Vitamin C Solution, which is a highly stable, non-irritating form of L-Ascorbic Acid that works wonders on every skin type because the pH is 5.0 - 5.5.

It’s also been studied to be the most effective at penetrating the skin barrier. We’ve doubled the brightening action by pairing it with Kakadu Plum Fruit Extract – the world’s richest source of Vitamin C.

One more thing

You may have heard of Vitamin C serums going off or starting to smell a bit funky. This is because when you expose L-Ascorbic Acid to light and air, it oxidises and the Vitamin C stops doing what it’s meant to. That’s why Brightening Booster is packaged in a (very cute) air-restrictive bottle, to make it last.
